We use our own contractors on placements within the Group, ensuring only the best quality contractors are placed with clients.
The phrase “eating your own dog food” is thought to have originated from an actual dog food manufacturer in the late ’80s (seems pretty obvious!). However, it really came into its own in 1991. Microsoft’s Dave Cutler and his team were developing Windows NT and each member had to use the platform while it was still in development. Microsoft would typically self-host Windows starting from the early (alpha) builds, while the rest of the organisation would be able to use later, more stable versions. This way of working ensures that the teams building and augmenting the solution understands the product, its benefits or limitations.
We may not ship software, but we take this ‘tried and tested’ approach very seriously.
In fact, we use our own contractors on many of the I.T. Alliance Group projects (this incorporates Auxilion and our white label side of the business). For example, our sister company, Auxilion, works with one of our longest-standing contactors. Tom O’Gorman is our Windows 10 specialist first and foremost. Tom has been contracting with us for almost 20 years and takes on projects from both our external clients and Auxilion while contracting through I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services. This ensures we can vouch for the high calibre of our contractors and reinforces the fact that we only hire contractors that we trust.
Long-standing relationships
Some contractors are specialised and in this case, we may not have worked with them internally. For example, one of our top project managers is a specialist in all things financial services, which is not a key focus for Auxilion. While this project manager has not worked on an internal project, we know many of the clients who have hired this skilled individual (and recommend his abilities). This project manager has been contracting with us over a decade, thus ensuring we understand the abilities and strengths of this individual very well. While they may have started as a trainee project manager back in the early ’90s with our sister company, over time, they have honed their skills and moved to a contracting role with I.T. Alliance Resourcing Services.
Robust screening processes
For those contractors we have not worked directly with, we have a robust screening process. Each and every contractor we hire goes through a rigorous screening process. We have competency principals within our sister company, Auxilion. These specialists maintain a range of skillsets including Microsoft, Oracle, ITIL and PMP and are charged with vetting our contractors, thus ensuring that your organisation is working with only the best technical and project specialists.
We are more than a traditional Resourcing Services organisation. We are an IT company with a long tradition of technical expertise, ensuring we understand your business and your resourcing needs.
